Metal Gear Solid

Metal Gear Solid is a landmark 1998 action-adventure stealth game developed and published by Konami for the original PlayStation. Directed, produced, and written by Hideo Kojima

The game is set in 2005 in an alternate history. Players control legendary soldier Solid Snake, who comes out of retirement for a mission on Shadow Moses Island in Alaska. A rogue unit of the elite special forces group FOXHOUND has seized a nuclear weapons disposal facility and threatens to launch a nuclear strike using the advanced bipedal tank Metal Gear REX unless their demands are met.

Blue Megamind review-
Okay… so if you’ve never played Metal Gear Solid, I’m just gonna say it—you’re missing something special.

You play as Solid Snake sneaking through Shadow Moses, and from the start it just feels different. It’s not about running in guns blazing… it’s about being patient, paying attention, and actually thinking through what you’re doing. And I love that.

For a 1998 game?? This actually goes hard.
Yeah, it’s PS1-era so you’re getting blocky models and simple textures—but the style carries it. The character designs, the cutscenes, the cinematic angles… it all feels intentional.

Like, this wasn’t trying to look pretty—it was trying to feel like a movie, and it nailed that.
Graphics — 8/10

This game runs smooth. No nonsense.
Load times are quick, no random lag, no crashes—it just works. And for something this ambitious back then? That’s actually kinda impressive.

It’s one of those games where you can tell they really polished it before releasing it.
Optimization— 9/10

Yeah… this is where it takes over.

Hideo Kojima didn’t just make a story—he made an experience. It’s deep, emotional, and full of those moments that stick with you.

Characters like Solid Snake feel real, and the villains? Unforgettable.
Psycho Mantis alone is enough to prove how creative this game is.

It’s not just cutscenes—you actually feel involved in what’s happening.
Story — 10/10

Stealth is everything here, and I love that.
You actually have to slow down, think, and move smart. It’s not about being the loudest—it’s about being the most patient.

Yeah, controls are a little dated, but once you get used to them? It clicks.
Gameplay — 9/10

This game isn’t just “good for its time”—it’s just good, period.
It’s one of those games that actually stays with you after you finish it.
Final Thoughts — 10/10 for me. Always.
