When I woke up the other morning, I had read from Pastor Josh that Kevin had passed away, and as I type this now I’m still thinking ” It couldn’t have been the Kevin I knew at church” because it was just 3 months ago or so that I’d see him out at pretty much any Timberwolves Football game that I was able to make it to. Even my brother mentioned to me that he seemed great just a few days ago.
When I first moved back to Fort Bragg and wanted to attend a church again, he was one of the first people that greeted me and became one of the first people I’d fist bump when arriving – and when we weren’t sitting together, he’d be sure to let us know he was there by falling asleep as his bible fell from his lap… which also happened to me a few times, but I figured I’d give him a hard time here on this post.
When he wasn’t joking with the girls, he was always passionate about Football and you can see it on his shirt even in this picture from many many years ago – But from what I could tell, he loved being down on the sidelines and chatting it up and just watching more and more football and hoping the home team would win.
In the back of my mind before I even hit post, I’m still thinking “There’s no way it could have been the Kevin I knew” even asking multiple people to confirm it.
Fort Bragg has lost many incredible people who supported our local teams in a very short amount of time – R.I.P Kevin. Hopefully you can pull a prank off when the season starts back up.
